About Hypher

Hypher is software that helps people find locally owned businesses, and helps those businesses find new customers through each other. It starts in Rapid City, South Dakota.

How it works

  1. Local businesses join

Owners set up a Hypher page and get a Hypher card with a code for their counter, truck or receipts.

  2. Customers scan and discover

A customer scans one member’s code and finds other locally owned places nearby.

  3. Every visit leads to the next

At the next place, they can find the places that business partners with, and so on around town.

Why locally owned only?

Big chains have big budgets to get noticed. The bakery, the barber and the plumber down the street mostly have their customers’ word of mouth. Hypher gives that word of mouth a way to travel: a customer who loves one local place finds the next one through it.

That only works if people can trust that every place on Hypher is owned by people who live here. So it’s the one rule: independently and locally owned, no national chains and no franchises.

Who runs Hypher?

Hypher is made by Hypher Inc. Its founder is Brady. He does the setup visits with each business himself: he meets the owner, helps finish their Hypher page and films their short video.
