For locals

How Hypher works

Scan a Hypher code at a local business, pick another locally owned place nearby, get a one-time code, and use it when you visit. It’s free, and there’s no app to download.

Hypher opens in Rapid City on November 15, 2026. Until then, you can join the list and we’ll tell you when it’s open.

How it works

  1. Scan the code

Point your phone’s camera at the Hypher code at a local business. Its Hypher page opens in your browser.

  2. Pick a place and get your code

See the other locally owned places it partners with. If one has an offer you like, tap it to get a one-time code.

  3. Use your code there

At that place, scan their Hypher code or open their page, and type in your code. Show the staff the green Checked in screen.

Where do I find a Hypher code?

Look for a Hypher card at the counter, or the round Hypher Local Partner sticker on a door, window or vehicle. Businesses without a storefront may text you their Hypher page link or put it on your receipt instead.

What happens when I use my code?

You type your code on the place’s Hypher page, so nobody has to scan anything for you. A big green Checked in screen shows what your code is for. Show it to the staff and they take care of the rest.

After that, you’ll see the places that business partners with, so the next good spot is close by.

Why only locally owned places?

Hypher is for businesses owned by people who live here. Keeping it that way means every place you find through Hypher is one where your money stays in town. Read about Hypher.

Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?

No. Hypher is free for you. The businesses pay for it.

Do I need an account?

Not to scan or look around. To get a code, you make a free account with your email. It also saves the places you like and the codes you have.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Hypher works in your phone’s camera and web browser.

Does every place have an offer?

No. Offers are up to each owner. Many places have one, and some just want you to come see what makes them worth the visit.

Can I use a code more than once?

No. Each code works one time, and only at the place it’s for.

Are these chain stores?

No. Every business on Hypher is independently and locally owned. Owners confirm it before they’re listed, and national chains and franchises can’t join.
