Guide for business owners
How to make your website easy to find
A website is easy to find when it loads fast on a phone, says plainly what you do and where, and gives each main service its own page. Then tell Google and Bing it exists.

In three steps
Say who, what and where
Put your business name, what you do, your city, phone and hours in plain text, on every page.
Give each service a page
One page for each main thing you sell or do, each with its own clear title.
Tell Google and Bing
Add your site to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and send them your sitemap.
What should my home page say first?
What you do and where, in words a customer would use. For example: "Family-owned auto repair in Rapid City, SD." Put your phone and hours close by. If a customer has to scroll to learn what you do, so does a search engine.
What is a page title?
It's the blue link people click in search results. Give each page its own short title that says what's on it, like "Brake repair in Rapid City | Your Shop Name". Most website builders have a box for it, often called "SEO title".
Why give each service its own page?
Someone searching for "wedding photos" and someone searching for "family portraits" want different things. A page for each lets you answer each one well, and gives search engines a clear page to show.
Does speed matter?
Yes. Most people look you up on a phone, often on a slow connection. Shrink big photos before you upload them and skip heavy add-ons you don't need. Google's free PageSpeed Insights tool shows what's slowing a page down.
How do I tell Google and Bing about my site?
Sign up for Google Search Console, prove you own the site, and submit your sitemap (most builders make one for you, often at /sitemap.xml). Bing Webmaster Tools can copy your setup straight from Search Console. Both are free and show which searches bring people to you.
What is structured data?
It's a bit of code that labels your facts, like your name, address and hours, so search engines don't have to guess. Many website builders add some for you. Google's free Rich Results Test shows what a page has.
How do I connect it all together?
Link your website from your Google profile, Facebook and other listings, and link back to them from your site. Ask groups you belong to, like a business association or a team you sponsor, to link to you. Never buy links.
Where does Hypher come in?
Every Hypher member gets a page on hypher.ai built to be read by search engines, and some Hypher plans include a website too. See the plans.
Questions people ask
Do I need a brand new website?
Usually not. Fixing the basics on the site you have, like titles, plain words and speed, often does more than starting over.
Is a Facebook page enough?
It helps, but you don't control it, and some customers and search tools look for a real website. Have both if you can.
How long until Google notices my changes?
Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Search Console lets you ask Google to look at a page again.
